Evening free to stroll in the famous shopping place of Shimla town – “The Mall & The Ridge” This large open space in the heart of town presents excellent views of the mountain ranges. Shimla’s landmarks – the neo-Gothic structure of Christ Church and the neo-Tudor library building – are worth seeing. Overnight at hotel. Day 03 : Shimla Kufri & Jakhoo Temple Shimla
Full day excursion visiting to “Kufri” india’s one of the best holiday paradise Kufri in shimla is beautifully tucked on an altitude of 2,622 meter, via green valley, wildflower hall, indira holiday home and fagu. Its lawns and woodland are added attractions “Jakhoo Temple” at 2455m, this is the town’s highest peak and a famous point for shimla’s famous views. Shimla also known as Simla, is the capital and the largest city of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamsala being the other capital. Shimla is also a district which is bounded by Mandi and Kullu in the north, Kinnaur in the east, the state of Uttarakhand in the south-east, and Solan and Sirmaur. Its name is derived from the goddess Shyamala Devi, an incarnation of the Hindu goddess Kali. Shimla is home to a number of buildings that are styled in the Tudorbethan and neo-Gothic architectures dating from the colonial era, as well as multiple temples and churches. The colonial architecture and churches, the temples and the natural environment of the city attracts tourists. Attractions include the Viceroy Lodge, the Christ Church, the Jakhoo Temple, the Mall Road and the Ridge, which together form the city centre. The Kalka–Shimla Railway line built by the British, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also a major tourist attraction. Owing to its steep terrain, Shimla hosts the mountain biking race MTB Himalaya, which started in 2005 and is regarded as the biggest event of its kind in South Asia. Shimla also has the largest natural ice skating rink in South Asia.
Kufri is a small hill station in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh state in India. It is located 20 km from the state capital Shimla on the National Highway No.22. The name Kufri is derived from the word kufr meaning “lake” in the local language. The highest point in the surrounding region, Kufri has a Himalayan wildlife zoo which hosts rare antelopes, felines and birds including the Himalayan monal, the state bird of Himachal Pradesh. During winter a meandering path through the potato plantations turns into a popular ski track.
